Wrong Aquarium

Taking Manhood Back

Wrong Aquarium

I received a question about finding the right partner in life a couple of days ago. The guy was sharing how he ends up frustrated because the kind of girl he wants are not the kind of girls he is dating. He said if I could help him process it through.

I think there is a fundamental problem. The guy wanted a church girl – someone conservative, loves Jesus, reads her Bible, is secure in her identity in Christ but he hunts for girls in the wrong places.

Funny how we want something and we know where to get it but we end up looking for it in other places and we end up frustrated. This happens to a lot of ladies. They want the responsbile guy. They want the caring guy. They want a guy who loves Jesus and where do they go looking?

Some try the bar, or the party scene, or worst the online dating sites. You can’t find them there. You have to know where they are. Here is how Isaac got her girl.

Gen. 24:13 See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water.
Gen. 24:14 May it be that when I say to a girl, ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’—let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”
Gen. 24:15  Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder. She was the daughter of Bethuel son of Milkah, who was the wife of Abraham’s brother Nahor.
Gen. 24:16 The girl was very beautiful, a virgin; no man had ever slept with her. She went down to the spring, filled her jar and came up again.

Go where they are. You want a girl who loves Jesus – then go to church.

For those who always end up frustrated – maybe you are looking at the wrong aquarium
