I just graduated last april in college. My parents asked me to go home in our province to spend time with them since its been 4 years I’ve been studying college in Manila pero I want to work po sana sa Manila to earn & have experience but my parents are against that decision. My mom even cried when I told her about the plan. What should I do? I want to try new things in life and I don’t want to be trapped here but I dont want to break their hearts either. Pero paano naman po yung gusto gusto kong maging independent kahit papaano.. hindi ko na po alam gagawin ko. . . ayoko din naman po sila saktan…
Your situation is a little tricky but here is my brotherly advice:
1. Talk to your parents heart to heart. Share your thoughts, vision and dream. Tell them the advantage of making your move to manila. The secret to expectations is to communicate, communicate, communicate.
2. In terms of breaking their heart, I think it is very subjective. Some parents are just sad but would gladly give their blessing if you assured them of your love.
