Bestest Version Of Myself Ever

Taking Manhood Back

Bestest Version Of Myself Ever

A month ago, when I was about to decide to pursue the woman I have prayed about, I texted a friend about this. Her reply was very simple and encouraging, she told me she’s excited about it.

I replied. “But I’m scared, because I know I am capable of hurting people before. I did made mistakes before. I don’t think I can handle this now…”

No reply from her. But I can almost swear I heard God did reply in my head with this:  “Why is every decision in your life all about you and your past?”

Then it continued..”Why can’t you accept the fact that your old self is now gone, I have cleansed you of your old tendencies and you are now walking with me side by side..”

Then it concluded like..”I am going to be with you, without Me, yes, you’ll be your old self again. Trust Me…I will be with you”

I felt empowered to obey God. I felt like I can be the “bestest” version of myself ever- not because of anything else, but simply because I believe God is with me. A few weeks after I confirmed that it was God indeed who spoke to me through this:

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! – 2 Corinthians 5:17, NLT

We need to stop making ourselves prisoners to our old self and start making bold decisions because of who we are in Christ. We can become the “bestest” version of ourselves!
