Men Forgive Yourselves

Taking Manhood Back

Men Forgive Yourselves

I am going to share a personal post, I feel like I have to share this to men who might feel the same way.

There were things I did in the past that I regret. Some of them are relationships with people that were broken because of my selfishness- and although I have repented before God and asked for forgiveness from the people I have hurt, there’s just something in your past mistakes that the devil keeps on bringing back.

Specially if the people you have hurt did not take the offense lightly and it prompted them to make wrong decisions that you know will hurt them. You cannot help but blame yourself. I know I did. I thought that I am going to be forever responsible of the things that that person will do wrong- just because I have hurt him or her once.

Men taking responsibility of the things they do is a good thing. But dwelling on a past mistake after it has been “washed” away by God’s forgiveness is called condemnation. Condemnation isn’t from God, it’s a lie from the enemy.

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1, NLT)

A friend told me “How dare you not forgive yourself, when God has already forgiven you…”

I prayed and asked God that He once again “remind” me of this forgiveness- and to my amazement He showed me another thing. He showed me the good things that I have now. As if God was speaking to me, “son, I have already forgiven you , in fact, I have rewarded you…stop dwelling in condemnation of your past sin and move up the ladder of blessings.”

God made me realized that He is still sovereign, even  in the lives of the people I have hurt. Just like He is sovereign in mine. If God allows them to make wrong decisions then it is already beyond my control. I will never know the reasons for their actions. But one thing I know, my God has cleansed me from my sins and He has freed me from the bondage of condemnation.

I just felt that many men are in this situation. They already want to move up to God’s blessings but they can’t- because condemnation from the enemy is making them feel that the ghost of their past sins are haunting them. Free yourselves from these thoughts!

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36, NIV)

Stop punishing yourselves for the sins that Jesus already died for. Condemnation blocks you from seeing the rewards that God has already bestowed upon you. Chances are you already have these rewards but you are too busy looking at the effects of your sin that you lose your focus on how good God is. He has already forgiven you, men, forgive yourselves.
