13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
The reason we can forget what is behind and move forward to what is ahead is because of the value of what is ahead. Remember Paul was saying that his greatest reward is Christ himself so his hope was no longer in the security of the world but in Christ. Never lose hope in what life throws at you. Your hope is not in the odds of survival. Your hope is found in Christ.
Brothers – do not lose heart when you are facing surmounting problems. There is hope in Christ. Ask God’s grace for your second wind.
