When God’s Vision is in YOU

Acts 26:19 English Standard Version (ESV)

19 “Therefore, O King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,

Paul, in his hardest time of being persecuted, put in prison, derailed from the ministry of spreading the gospel declares to King Agrippa that HE WAS NOT OBEDIENT TO HEAVENLY VISION.

Alan-Mullaly_Vision-e1335373622720When God’s vision gets a hold of you, it can never stop you from pursuing and living it out no matter what the world throws at you. God’s vision stops you from pursuing your own self-centered vision and gives you a purpose for more than you. God vision affects others. God’s vision makes you want to change. It points out things that you should not tolerate and lets you embrace what God wants for you.

God’s vision will also push you to go and make a dent in the universe. It makes you wake up each morning with a clear purpose of living not for your glory or any man’s glory but God’s glory. God’s vision won’t make you say “look at me”, but rather say “look at my God!”

God’s vision gives you the strength to go on and persevere because it is no longer about you but about God. If it is just about you and your vision then we have every reason to quit but when we start living for God – it strengthens us because we know He is backing us up.

Paul went through a lot to obey God’s vision for him.

2 Corinthians 11:23-28 English Standard Version (ESV)

23 Are they servants of Christ? I am a better one—I am talking like a madman—with far greater labors, far more imprisonments, with countless beatings, and often near death.24 Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. 25 Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; 26 on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; 27 in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food,[a] in cold and exposure. 28 And, apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches.
