Start The Year Right: Write the Vision

Habakkuk 2:2-4 The Message (MSG)

2-3 And then God answered: “Write this.

    Write what you see.
Write it out in big block letters
so that it can be read on the run.
This vision-message is a witness
pointing to what’s coming.
It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait!
And it doesn’t lie.
If it seems slow in coming, wait.
It’s on its way. It will come right on time.

4 “Look at that man, bloated by self-importance—
full of himself but soul-empty.
But the person in right standing before God
through loyal and steady believing
is fully alive, really alive.

Welcome 2014!

So what do we all do at the start of the year – we write down our goals. I have a new change of terminology and process to achieve what needs to be done this year.

Instead of writing down our new year’s resolution or our 2014 goals, why not ask God first for a God vision. Not a good vision but a God-ordained, inspired dream for you this year. I change it to resolution and goals because I think we all need to bring God into the process of where our year should start and end. Goals tend to be one sided. It’s about what I want or what I need while God vision is what God wants and what God desires from us. It takes us away from ourselves and make us look to God for direction and strength to persevere. We can’t be bloated by self importance rather we need to know our position in Christ. We are servants of the most high God and what He wants is what we want.

It is so important to write down the God vision. It is a witness. It is pointing to something that will become a reality. It will come right on time – God’s time not ours.

Habakkuk mentioned something about being loyal and believing because the God vision will be tested. We want to be fully alive this 2014, persevere through the God vision, overcome the obstacle with God’s strength, enjoy the climb up, God is with you!
