Blog entry by Karren Carnero
As I write my first few words, I thought, what am I doing writing this blog about how it is to be a real man when I’m every inch a woman!
1) A real man is not one who shouts the loudest nor he who gets his way all the time. A real man uses his God given gentle voice to soothe his family and has their emotional state in check. He does not stress out his kids and cause the depression of his wife.
Ephesians 6:4 NIV
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
2) A real man is not one who has a buffed physique, capable of kicking the strongest. A real man uses his knees to kneel down and pray. He derives his strength from the Lord, humbles himself before Him, and leads his family in their spiritual journey.
1 Corinthians 11:3 NIV
But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
3) A real man is not one who works himself to death nor he who stores up riches for his family. A real man is one who invests just the right amount of time in work to provide for their needs. He devotes the rest of his valuable time tucking in his daughter at night, reading the bible with her, studying with her, playing mine craft or simply watching her Taekwondo matches. He dates his wife, listens to her, looks beyond her faults and simply loves her.
Matthew 6:20 NIV
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
To answer the question above, I’m every inch a woman, but I have known how it is to be a man because, every single day, I wake up next to someone, who by God’s grace, has become every inch …. a real man.
