Discover Why

Let me share this powerful quote that makes me want to get up every morning!

William-Barclay-Quote

Are you living out God’s given dream for you? Are you living out the dangerous, great adventure God has for your life. The day you were born, God has already ordained a dream for you to fulfill. Do no lose that! Once discovered – put your effort into fulfilling your God-given dream and vision.

Once you start dragging yourself everyday – it’s time to pause and reflect – have I lost my why?

I was talking with a dear friend who was battling loneliness and depression because of work. He felt lost, empty and fruitless after all the hard labor and sacrifice he has done. When asked why he felt that way, he felt like he can’t stop working for the organization he is presently employed in.

But then I had to point him back decades before when he decided to enter his field of work. I asked him – Why did you enter that field of work? Was it because of the organization or the call of God in your life? Who was responsible for the call of God in your life – the organization (business, company, or church organization) or God?

He recalled how he knew God called him to do the work he is in now and somehow along the way – he forgot the WHY he was doing what he was doing and focused more on the organization rather than on the call of God. Now that the organization is experiencing death – he felt he can’t let go but in the process he was also losing the joy and the why he was doing his job in the first place.

After a few weeks, I get a message from my friend and he was thanking me because he realized how through the years of working he somewhat lost they WHY he was doing it. And gladly he is on his way back to living out the dream God has for him.

How about you? What is your WHY? Are you living out your purpose and God-given call in your life?
