Proverbs 16:3 (NLT) “Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”
Not too long ago my wife and I were driving along the traffic filled street known as EDSA. Having an eye on the way brands today advertise their products, one, in particular, caught my eye that didn’t set too well with me.
Not only was this brand advertising with an alcoholic beverage, but it was giving tips to men on how they will know if a girl is “interested in you.”
In some weird way, today’s generation everything must be sure and instant, I’ve been in countless conversations with men in the church and outside telling me they like this girl, but they don’t want to pursue because they have a fear of being rejected.
My answer to them: Get over yourself
Nothing is 100% sure, especially relationships. While I was courting my wife, I knew it would be a long shot, but I couldn’t let myself go on if I didn’t try. I told her my intentions, we got to know each other, and six months later we became a couple. 17 years later, we have been married for 12 years and have two beautiful daughters.
As Christian men, we have to commit the relationship we desire to God. In everything we do when we lay our intentions, commit it to God, and he will take care of the rest, you just have to take action. If we wait too long just because we want to be sure, then the moment will never happen.
God calls us to be leaders; we are not much of a leader if we need to take our cue from the woman, that’s just starting off the wrong foot.
