Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10
“Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!”
On June 24, our church held an event to remind us, men, that we need to be accountable to other men. Pastor Dennis Sy hit the bull’s eye when he asked the crowd: “Who’s watching your back?” That made me think. Who does have my back?
I was relieved when I was able to identify names of those who carry that “license” to call me out when I need to be called out. I was also relieved when I was able to identify those men who are my leaders and peers, and those I lead. I thank God for having them in my life.
So here’s my question to those reading this: Who’s got your back? I wouldn’t be in this position today if I had no accountability and men to call me out when I need to be called out. Remember, King Solomon, said himself: “Woe to him who is alone when he falls.”
My word of advice? Don’t do this alone.
