Taking Manhood Back

1 John 4:10New International Version (NIV)

10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

161It is important for us to know that we are loved if we want to be transformed. You want to be a better man, husband, father, worker, boss – remember you are loved. Loved people don’t perform. They live life to the fullest. They are not scared to risk and fail – why? Because they are loved. Loved people are secure, stable and productive. The motivation for life is clear – loved people love people. Loved people don’t search for love – they look for people to love.

Thus the importance to understand how much God loves us. His love transforms. His love makes us secure. Even as men who thrive in our successes – we are now lifted from trying to measure up or living in fear because the perfect love of Christ drives out fear.

Victor Hugo said, “The supreme happiness in life is the assurance that we are loved.”

We live in a world that tries to perform to be loved. It is sad to hear that many people live on the mantra that we are only as good as our last performance. Why do girls succumb to the first man who wants her and even gives her virginity to that man? Because every girl longs to be loved and accepted. Why do guys work to death and try to look good in his workplace? Because he feels validated  by his achievements. But if we know we are loved by God unconditionally, we can start living life to the fullest.

Brother, you are loved. Sister, you are loved. Jesus loves you.
